The Mockingbird company has expanded the previous recall of its strollers. The New York-based company is now recalling more than 25,000 of its single strollers. This is on top of the 149,000 Single to Double Strollers it recalled last year.
The recall is due to a weak stroller frame. The company says the lower side of the stroller’s frame can crack. This poses a fall risk to children.
There have been 13 reported incidents of cracks in the Single Stroller’s frame. There are no reported injuries yet.
What are the Affected Products?
The expanded recall involves the Mockingbird Single Strollers. They’re made of aluminum. The strollers come in silver or black. The item has black seats. The stroller has a canopy that’s available in different colors.
The affected Single Strollers have lot numbers between 18322 and 22278. Strollers with lot numbers 23174 and 23175 are also part of the recall.
Consumers can find the lot number on the stroller’s product label. You can find the white label on the inner left side of the frame.
The recalled Mockingbird strollers were also produced in China. There were then sold at hellomockingbird.com and at www.babylist.com. They were also offered online at goodbuygear.com.
What Should Consumers Do?
Stroller owners should stop using the item. They should then get in touch with the company. They will receive a reinforcement kit for free. This includes two clamps for the frame. It’s to become attached to the stroller’s side to reinforce it.
Consumers can also call the company’s toll-free number (877) 274-3240. Their office hours are from 9 AM to 5 PM (ET), Mondays to Fridays. They can also email the company at recall@hellomockingbird.com.
