Fisher-Price announced a voluntary recall of its popular Brunch & Go Stroller Toys. The company says the decision was due to choking dangers.
The recall affects around 20,000 toys sold in the United States. The move was also carried out with the help of the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
Parents can clip the Brunch & Go toys on the stroller’s canopy. It has several toy food items for babies to play with. This includes an avocado toast, a strip of bacon, a tomato, and an egg.
Understanding the Company’s Concern
Fisher-Price decided after receiving reports of the toy becoming a choking hazard. The toy egg could crack and break. The tiny plastic parts could find their way into a baby’s or toddler’s mouth.
The international toy company received five reports of the toy breaking and cracking. Two customers said a small piece of the toy egg ended up inside their baby’s mouth.
The company hasn’t received any reports of injuries connected to the issue.
What Consumers Should Do
Fisher-Price is advising parents and caregivers to stop using the Brunch and Go toys. They should also keep the recalled toys away from children.
Consumers can contact the company and ask for a refund or a replacement product. They can find more detailed return instructions on the Fisher-Price website.
Consumers who want a replacement must mark the egg component with “Recall.” They should also include a unique identifier that the company would send them. They should also upload a photo of the toy at https://service.mattel.com/us/recall.aspx. Consumers should dispose of the recalled stroller toy once they receive the replacement.
The company is set to contact all known direct buyers of the toy.
