The Kraft Heinz Food Company has issued a voluntary recall of its Oscar Mayer turkey bacon. The company says it’s pulling out almost 368,000 pounds of cooked turkey bacon due to Listeria.
Kraft Heinz decided on a nationwide recall after finding Listeria on several products. They found the possible contamination during a routine test. So far, the company hasn’t received any confirmed reports of illnesses due to Listeria.
What are the Recalled Products?
Kraft Heinz is recalling Oscar Mayer turkey bacon products. Production of the processed meats ran from April 24 to June 11, 2025. The products were then distributed to stores across the US. They were also delivered to stores in the British Virgin Islands and Hong Kong.
The recall covers the following:
- 12-Ounce Package Oscar Mayer Turkey Bacon Original

What Can Consumers Do?
Kraft Heinz is advising consumers who bought any of the turkey bacon products not to eat them. They should throw the products away. They can also return them to the store they bought them from and ask for a full refund. Consumers must discard the products, even the ones stored in the freezer.
Breaking Down the Dangers of Listeria
Listeria monocytogenes is a dangerous bacterium that could cause serious infections. The infections could become fatal in some instances.
Older individuals, pregnant women, and infants are more vulnerable to Listeria. It’s also dangerous to immune-compromised people.
The US is now revamping its safety protocols to safeguard against Listeria. The government decided on the change after several high-profile outbreaks in 2024. One severe case caused 10 fatalities and over 60 illnesses.
