Bedshe International has issued a recall of its electric heating pads and blankets. Bedsure blankets and pads are being recalled due to a possible controller malfunction. This could become a potential thermal burn and fire hazard. Around 350,000 units are reportedly affected by the issue.
The company has already received 137 reports. The said items reportedly overheated and burned. There were also cases of the blankets causing minor damage to properties. 17 reports of burn injuries were also levied against Bedshe. One of the injuries was a second-degree burn.
What are the Affected Products?
The defective products include Bedsure electric heating blankets in twin and full sizes. Some were throw blankets. The blankets are flannel or Sherpa. They came in three sizes – 50″ x 60,” 62″ x 84″ and 72″ x 84.”
The electric heating pads were also sold in sizes 12″ x 24″, 24″ x 22″ and 24″ x 33″. They were also offered in brown, teal, and gray colors.
A white cord controlled the heated blankets and pads. This also has a digital controller unit. Blanket model BS-LVOA had a non-digital controller. It has the Bedsure name and symbol on the controller.
What Should Consumers Do?
Bedshe announced that must stop using the recalled heating blankets and pads. They must also call the company to receive a full refund.
Consumers must still have the heating blanket or pad. They must follow the instructions given during registration at www.safety.bedsurehome.com. They should then submit photos of the recalled items before they can get the refund. Bedshe is already making contact with known buyers.
