Victrola has issued a recall of its Wood Metropolitan Bluetooth Record Players. The item comes with three-speed turntables. The company says these players can overheat. It can become a fire hazard when this happens.
The Denver-based company expects the issue will affect around 5,700 record players.
Victrola has received six incident reports of the product overheating or catching fire. The reports included one involving a minor injury. Another one involved minor property damage.
What are the Affected Products?
Victrola has issued a recall of the VTA-240B-ESP Wood Metropolitan Bluetooth Record Player. It comes with a three-speed turntable.
The record player is about 6.5 inches high and 14.5 inches wide. It’s also 15.5 inches deep and weighs around 12 pounds.
It also has three black control knobs on the front panel. The knobs have brass accents. Users can also see “Victrola” in gold on the inside top cover.
Consumers can find a label on the back with the words “Model: VTA-240B.” A second label on the back shows “Production Date: 09/2021.”
The record players were all sold online at Amazon and Macy’s websites. They were also sold at www.Victrola.com.
What Can Consumers Do?
Victrola is advising consumers to stop using the record players. They should unplug them and call the company for a free replacement. Victrola also wants owners to keep the items until they can register for the recall. They will then receive instructions on how to dispose of the players.
