The Honda Motor Co. in the US has issued a recall of five vehicle models. The company says the problem could affect around 124,077 units of recent vehicles.
The vehicles could reportedly encounter problems with the brakes. The tie rod fastener was reportedly assembled the wrong way. the fastener is then connected to the brake booster and the brake master cylinder. The improper assembly could result in the master cylinder detaching from the booster.
Drivers could lose brake function if the master cylinder becomes loose or detaches. This increases the risk of a vehicle crash.
What are the Affected Vehicles?
The Japanese multinational company is recalling the following:
- Model Year 2020-2021 Civics
- Model Year 2020-2023 Ridgelines
- Model Year 2021-2023 Passports
- Model Year 2021-2022 Pilots
- Model Year 2020 Acura MDX.
The company had issued a previous recall back in June. That particular recall was due to a cable connection problem. It prevented images from the rear camera to appear on the dashboard screen. Around 1.2 million Odyssey, Passport, and Pilot models were then recalled.
