Polaris has announced a voluntary recall of its off-road vehicles. This is due to issues with the clutch. The vehicle manufacturer recalled over 27,000 units of its 2021 RZR XP Turbo and Turbo S models.
Polaris reported that the clutch on the affected models could fracture. This can result in fragments ejecting from the vehicle. The action could cause injuries. It could also result in the vehicle catching fire.
The company has already received 206 incident reports of clutch failures. The reports included six cases of fires and two incidents of injuries. There was one report of a vehicle tipping over.
The recalled off-road vehicles come in various colors. Models came in black, blue, and gray. There are also models in lime, sand, and orange hues. The Turbo models also came in two-seater and four-seater configurations.
You can see the brand POLARIS stamped on the front grille. The names POLARIS and RZR are also stamped on the sides. The chassis also carries the model name on its side. Vehicle owners can find the VIN on the vehicle’s frame. It’s located in the well of the left rear wheel.
