Silvestri Sweets Inc. ordered the recall of its Favorite Day branded treats. These are the “Valentine’s Milk Chocolate Covered Caramels with Nonpareils.” The company recalled these treats sold at Target due to undeclared pecan allergen.
According to reports, the said product may contain a certain tree nut. This is an allergen not declared on the label of the product. It is fortunate that there are no reported illnesses to date in connection to this recall.
The recall happened after the discovery of potential tree nut inclusions distributed. But the packaging did not reveal the presence of the said allergen. Investigations state the error is due to the breakdown in the production process. It also includes the company’s packaging process as well.
The company packed these recalled sweet treats in 8 oz stand-up pouch bags. These have lot # 33822. It also comes with the best-by date of 07 DEC 2023, printed on the back. One can find this underneath the UPC barcode. Silvestri Sweets sold these Favorite Day branded treats nationwide at Target retail stores.
