Trek Bicycle Corporation has issued a voluntary recall for specific Electra e-bike models. The company decided to remove the bikes due to a potential crash hazard. The recall has affected around 18,000 units. These were all sold in the United States.
The Trek bike company said the rear fender bolts in the bikes could loosen. This could cause the fender to come into contact with the rear wheel. The e-bike could crash if this happens. The company revealed one bike already crashed because of the issue. There were no reported injuries.
What are the Affected Models?
The recall applies to Electra e-bikes sold between August 2018 and November 2022.
The recall impacts the following models:
- Electra Navigator Go!
The bike has a matte Nautilus Blue color with map or ocean graphics. The name Electra is on the chain guard. It’s also on the compass on the top tube. The bike is from the 2021 and 2022 model line.
- Electra Ace of Spades Go!
The Ace of Spades comes in Matte Black with a gold spade. The name Electra is on the down tube and chain guard. There’s a spade on the top tube. This model is from the 2018, 2021, and 2022 line.
