Woom Bikes has issued a voluntary recall of its ORIGINAL bicycles. The Texas-based company said there are possible issues with the stems and handlebars.
The stems on these bikes have a silver bolt that clamps onto the tube used for steering. These could detach from the frame and result in the rider losing control. It’s a fall hazard that can lead to injuries.
Woom reported that around 84,533 bikes could become affected by this issue.
The company has received 77 incident reports of the handlebar loosening or detaching. There were 19 cases of injuries reported. These involved abrasions, cuts, and bruising.
What are the Affected Products?
Woom is recalling its ORIGINAL bicycles from the model years 2018 – 2021. The bikes were all made for children between the ages of 18 months to 14 years.
