BeyondMedShop has issued a voluntary recall of its Vaunn Medical Bed Assist Rail. The adult bed rails can trap users and cause injuries. The company expects around 102,000 units to become affected by the recall.

The Stafford, Texas-based company stated they’re doing this to prevent injuries. They also want to keep their customers safe. They explained that there’s a chance users of the bed rail can get trapped within it. Or they can get trapped between the mattress and the bed rail. These situations can cause serious injuries. A user could also die of asphyxiation. There are no cases or reports of the bed rails causing accidents.

What are the Affected Models?

BeyondMedShop is recalling two models of the Vaunn Medical Bed Assist Rail. These are models M876N-AAWH-APVM and M876N-SABK-APVM. The former is a rectangular-shaped bed rail. It’s composed of white metal tubing. It also has a grip handle made of black foam rubber.

The 876N-SABK-APVM model is also made of black metal tubes. It also has a black foam rubber grip with a rounded shape. It also has a fabric pouch. One can find the model number on the product’s weight capacity label.

The bed rails were from China. They were then sold at BeyondMedShop.com. The rails were also offered on online platforms like Amazon and eBay. They were available from December 2018 to December 2022.

What Should Customers Do?

Bed rail owners should stop using the recalled item. It doesn’t matter if the unit doesn’t seem to have a problem. They should still refrain from using the rail. They should then contact the company to schedule a free repair.
