Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) has announced three recall notices. These will address problems with rearview mirrors and brake pedals. The company expects the recall to affect around 66,000 vehicles.
MOPAR Trailer Tow Mirrors Recall
Chrysler is recalling 13,119 MOPAR trailer tow mirrors and mirror glass. The recall cover mirrors with parts numbers 68286843AA, 68582424AA, 68582415AA, and 68462879AA.
The driver’s side mirror glass could detach in affected units. It would result in rear visibility issues and violate safety standards.
FCA is offering free repurchase or replacement of the mirror glass. The company will mail out owner notifications by December 5, 2024. Vehicle owners can contact FCA Customer Service at 1-800-853-1403. The reference number for this recall is 87B.
Ram 1500 Classic Heated Trailer Tow Mirrors Recall
Chrysler also recalled 31,676 units of its 2020-2023 Ram 1500 Classic. These vehicles have heated trailer tow mirrors that could also detach on the driver’s side. It will reduce the driver’s visibility and raise the risk of a crash.
Owners should head to the nearest FCA dealership. Dealers will replace the mirror glass at no cost. The company will send out owner notifications by December 5, 2024. Owners can also call FCA Customer Service at 1-800-853-1403 and use the recall number 86B.
Dodge Hornet and Alfa Romeo Tonale Brake Pedal Recall
Chrysler’s last recall involves 21,069 units of the 2024 – 2025 Dodge Hornet and Alfa Romeo Tonale. The company is recalling these vehicles over a potential brake pedal collapse.
FCA dealers will reinforce the brake pedal arm for free. The company sent out notifications on October 24, 2024. Vehicle owners can also contact FCA at 1-800-853-1403 and use the recall number B7B.
