It’s been a busy week for the Ford Motor Company. The automobile manufacturer has issued three recall notices. The recalls have affected most of its brands.
Recall # 1: Fuel Injector Issue
The first recall Ford released covers the following:
- 2023 Lincoln Corsair
- 2023 – 2024 Escape
- 2024 Mustang
- 2025 Explorer
These models could have a problem with their fuel injectors. The injectors were reportedly assembled without O-ring support discs. This could result in fuel leaks.
Owners should bring their vehicles to their Ford dealer. Dealers will replace the fuel injector O-rings and install O-ring support discs. They’ll do this at no cost to the owner.
Ford is sending out owner notification letters by September 30, 2024.
Recall # 2: Issue with the Engine Intake Valve
Ford’s second recall covers vehicles with a 2.7L or 3.0L Nano EcoBoost engine. The affected models include:
- 2021 – 2022 Bronco
- 2021 – 2022 F-150
- 2021 – 2022 Edge
- 2021 – 2022 Explorer
- 2021 – 2022 Lincoln Nautilus
- 2021 – 2022 Lincoln Aviator
These units might have engine intake valves that could break. This can result in engine failure.
Vehicle owners should have their dealers do an engine cycle test. The dealer will replace the engine for free if necessary.
Ford is also expected to send notification letters by October 7, 2024.
Recall # 3: Transit Vehicle Labeling Error
The company has also recalled 2024 Transit vehicles. Certain units are reportedly affected by a labeling issue. The front gross axle weight rating on the B-pillar and owner’s manual labels might be incorrect. The error could lead to overloading.
Ford dealers will replace the labels at no cost. The company sent out owner notification letters on September 9, 2024.
