Coca-Cola recalled over 13,000 cans of Minute Maid Zero Sugar Lemonade. Some cases reportedly had the wrong label.
The recalled cans were regular, full sugar instead of the intended zero sugar formula.
What are the Affected Products?
The Minute Maid recall affected 13,152 cases of Zero Sugar Lemonade. Each case contained 12 cartons, with 12 cans of 12-ounce lemonade.
Consumers can distinguish the mislabeled cartons by the following codes:
- FEB1725CNA
- FEB1725CNB
They have a UPC of 0 25000 12115 9.
The products were available in these three states – Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio.
Coca-Cola, which owns Minute Maid, issued the recall in September but is only making it public now. The multinational company has also confirmed the recall is complete. But there might still be cans in consumers’ possession.
Cola-Cola also clarified that only the outer packaging had the wrong label. The information on the cans is correct.
What Can Consumers Do?
The FDA categorized this as a Class II recall. It means there is a remote chance of detrimental health consequences.
Consumers who bought these products can discard or return them to the store for a refund. The mislabeling isn’t considered a major safety risk. It could affect consumers who are avoiding sugar for dietary or health reasons.Minute Maid products are rarely recalled, so the news surprised consumers. The last time the company issued a recall was in 2021. The company recalled a small quantity of its drinks because of the presence of a foreign matter. It was also classified as a Class II recall.
