Polaris Industries has recalled around 13,000 MATRYX snowmobiles from model years 2022-2024. These vehicles are all equipped with PATRIOT 650 and 850 engines.
These snowmobiles were also recalled in May, August, and November 2023.
The Minnesota-based company said the primary (drive) clutch could fail. This could lead to the clutch or its components detaching from the snowmobile. It poses a risk of injury.
Polaris has reported 109 instances of clutch failure. This includes nine cases where clutch components detached from the unit. There was one incident of a laceration injury.
The recall includes certain models of Polaris MATRYX Voyageur, Indy, and Switchback. The RMK and SKS snowmobiles are also part of the recall. These models were available in black and custom color combinations. They’re fitted with PATRIOT 650 and 850 engines.
This latest recall also covers primary (drive) clutches sold as service parts. These components are under part numbers 1323613 (e-start) and 1323614 (manual start).
The snowmobiles have the name “POLARIS” stamped on the front side panel. The VIN and model number are on the right side of the frame.
Polaris dealerships in the US sold the MATRYX snowmobiles. These were available from October 2021 through June 2023.
